Cleaning Uses for Coca Cola
Uses for Coca Cola
I remember as a child my daddy stopping at the filling station (yes, Iām that old) and buying a Coke to clean the car windshield. Reflecting on that experience and reading about the many uses of Coke other than drinking, I thought it would be fun to share my top 5 household cleaning uses for Coca Cola.
Uses for Coca Cola
1. Pour one can of Coke into the toilet. Let it sit for an hour and flush for a clean toilet.
2. Laundry Degreaser: Pour one can of Coke in the washing machine with detergent. Toss in greasy or heavily soiled clothes and launder as usual.
3. Coke makes an excellent window cleaner. This is especially useful for car windows which can get tough buildups of road gunk. Pour a can of coke over the windshield and rub with a washing cloth. Wipe off with a damp cloth to remove sticky residue.
4. To remove the black film on the bottom of a pot from burned on food the black and restore your pot to new, pour in a can of coke (or as much as you need to cover the blackened area by an inch) and put it on the stove on a low heat for half hour; wash the pot as normal.
5. Remove rust by soaking the rusted item in coke and scrubbing with a textured cloth. This also works well with rust spots on chrome objects such as faucets.

Crazy but cool! My hubby is going to look at me funny when I start pouring Coke in the toilets! And this post is making me think we probably should be consuming Coke if it’s so good at cleaning things (lol).

The cheap knock-off sodas work equally well. I can find them for 69 cents for a two-liter bottle. I use the diet versions to avoid stickiness or possibly attracting bugs. An addition to this list is that soda will clean corrosion from a car battery.

No way! Wow, I had no idea soda was so good for cleaning! Now I know what to do with all the leftover soda we have after parties. It’s going straight into the toilet for post-party cleaning!

Get out! I wouldn’t use that on my windows just to have to wash it off. Vinegar water probably costs less and doesn’t attract bugs.

That’s not really a good way to promote a product that so many people drink. I don’t want to be able to clean with my beverage.

I knew that coke would clean pennies and make them shiny again but, i never realized that it could be used to clean the toilet. I especially want to try the one where it cleans the inside of a pot.
