Stove Cleaning Tips
When it’s time to clean the kitchen one thing you can’t neglect is your stove. I know it can be easy to forget to give you stove a good scrub down every now and then but it really needs to be done. I do it about once a month. And while cleaning (anything) can be a pain, going in with some great tips and a plan can make it much easier!
So today I wanted to share with you 8 Easy Stove Cleaning Tips to make cleaning your stove a little easier!
8 Easy Stove Cleaning Tips
1. Grab a great pair of rubber gloves. When cleaning you stove you will be working with hot water, chemicals, and grime. You will want to make sure your hands are covered. You will thank me later!
2. Make sure you pay attention to the bottom of your stove! Food drippings have more than likely made their way to the bottom of your stove. If you see baked on food, take a metal spatula and try to chip away at it. If that doesn’t work grab some baking soda (enough to cover the food) and put a few drops of white vinegar on it. Let it bubble and you should be able to wipe it right off!
3. Clean it often! The more often you clean your stove, the less dirty it will be next time. Give your tub a good scrub down about once a month.
4. Go the Natural way! Don’t want to use all those harsh chemicals when cleaning your stove? You don’t have to! Use a mix of 1 part salt, one part baking soda, and one part water for a great cleaning solution without all those harsh chemicals.
5. Here’s a practically effortless way to clean an electric oven: First, turn the oven on, let it warm to 150°F (65°C), and then turn it off. Place a small bowl containing 1/2 cup ammonia on the top shelf and a large pan of boiling water on the bottom shelf. Close the oven door, and let it sit overnight. The next morning, remove the dish and pan, and let the oven air out awhile. Then wipe it clean using the ammonia and a few drops of dishwashing liquid diluted in a quart of warm water — even old burned-on grease should wipe right off. Warning: Do not use this cleaning method with a gas oven unless the pilot lights are out and the main gas lines are shut off. via RD.com
6. Don’t forget about the self cleaning feature! A lot of ovens have a self cleaning option. Use it! Then all you will have to do it wipe it out. Real time savor!
7. Prevent messes before they happen! Make sure you using the correct pans and sizes in the oven to prevent spillage in the oven. Less mess=less cleaning.
8. Nix the grease! Got a greasy film on the glass in your oven? Zap it with a few sprays of ammonia, let it soak about 5 minutes and wipe clean. Your glass will sparkle.
