Easy Bathtub Cleaning Tips

It’s almost a new year, and one of my favorite things to do for the new year is a good house scrubbing. You know, doing the stuff you don’t do every day. Cleaning out the gutters, scrubbing the baseboards, and giving your bath tub a good scrub down. (The inside, outside, fixtures, everything!). With that in mind I wanted to share with you some easy Bathtub Cleaning Tips to help you get the new year started off right and clean!

Here are Easy Bathtub Cleaning Tips:

1. Keep Mildew at bay! Mildew is no good for your bath tub, and no good for your body either! Clean mildew with a combination of 10 parts water with 1 part bleach and make sure to scrub any grout on your bath tub wall well!

2. Keep your pipes cleaned and clog free, naturally! Keeping your pipes clean will help prevent build up, and will help make sure everything going down the drain, stays down the drain. Pour 1/2 a cup of baking soda down the drain and follow that with 1/2 a cup of white vinegar. Let sit and foam for about 5 minutes than pour hot water down the drain. Sparkling and clog free!

3.Don’t forget the shower curtain! When cleaning your bath tub don’t forget about your shower curtain which can have lots of soap scum built up on it. You can throw them in the washer (check the tag first) or hand wash them.

4. Clean out that faucet! Mineral deposits can clog up your tub faucet and make it not work as great as it could. Clean it easy buy filling a plastic bag with white vinegar and submerge the faucet into the vinegar, tie the bag up around it and let it sit for about 1/2 an hour. Rinse!

5. Get rid of Ring around the Tub- If you have a ring around your tub clean it up quickly and easily with a simple solution of 1 cup detergent (like Dawn) and 3 cups of hot water. Put in a spray bottle and shake to mix. Spray on the ring and let sit, then scrub off the ring, good as new!
